Resign for what you've admitted, not for what you did

The House Leadership is incensed at Bob Ney, suggesting that he should resign.

What's amusing, however, is their choice of phrases:
"Bob Ney must be punished for the criminal actions he has acknowledged" (emphasis added)

Note that they're decrying what he acknowledged, not what he actually DID.
